Phi Phi Islands

Phi Phi Islands, far from Krabi Province for roughly 40 kilometers, are a part of Noppharatthara National Park - Phi Phi Islands. Originally, sea folks called these islands “Pu-Lao-Pi-A-Pi” which the words “Pu-Lao” means “Islands” and “Pi-A-Pi” means a species of sea trees, a kind of Aegiceras cornicalatum and mangrove. Later, they called it “Pi-Pi tree” which its sound subsequently became “Phi Phi”. The folks believe that it is a Kingdom of Flowers under the Ocean. Tourist visiting these islands mostly go coral diving to see beautiful and colorful sea flowers and fish. Phi Phi Islands are composed of 2 huge islands which are “Phi Phi Don Island” and “Phi Phi lay Island” including small adjacent islands – “Yoong Island” and “Bamboo Island”. Moreover, “Phi Phi Don Island” and “Phi Phi lay Island” are the main tourist attractions there. They look like river bends or enormous gulfs which there are white beaches inside and are the place to enjoy swimming and coral diving. Phi Phi Don Island has once ranked on “Top 10 most beautiful islands in the world”. Besides, Phi Phi Don Island is the center of Phi Phi Islands consisting of resorts, restaurants, adequate facilities and gorgeous scenery.
